About Us

The Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence (GCADV) is the state leader in the movement to end violence against women and girls, representing over 50 domestic violence organizations and programs across the state. GCADV’s mission is to empower survivors of domestic violence and the programs that serve them, we educate the public and we advocate for responsive public policy. GCADV does this through four core pathways: training, technical assistance, public policy and advocacy, and statewide outreach. 

We believe that collaborative work between GCADV, its members, allies, corporate and foundation partners, along with the larger community can bring about a transformation. Collectively we can advocate and create change on behalf of domestic violence survivors and their families.

Our Impact

In 2018, 8,613 GCADV training hours impacted 2,065 advocates who served over 10,000 survivors. Advocacy is an important part of our work - it secures the resources required to support domestic violence and sexual assault programs and ensures that survivors of domestic violence and their families are protected.

Where Your Money Will Go

This year, Giving Tuesday funds are supporting our "Don't Knock the Hustle" Program. What many folks working with domestic violence survivors know is that one of the biggest reasons people don't leave their relationships, they return back to abusive relationships, or enter into multiple abusive relationships in their lifetime, is economic coercion, people don't have the ability to sustain themselves. Don't Knock the Hustle is GCADV’s investment into survivor entrepreneurship, their creativity, their ideas, and the way that they want to economically support themselves.
