Adopt a Golden Atlanta

Adopt a Golden Atlanta (AGA) is a volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to finding warm, loving permanent homes for Golden Retrievers (both purebred and high golden mixes) in order to prevent them from becoming strays or adding to the shelter overpopulation.

2024 has proven to be an unprecedented and quite a catastrophic year for rescues and shelters.  With the pandemic ending and the ever-rising inflation happening in our country, people are left with pains-taking decisions.  For this reason, rescues/shelters are so far beyond their capacity.  AGA has had an unusually large number of owner turn-ins and strays this year with an increasing number of these dogs needing expensive, and life-saving medical treatment.  Medical expenses have almost doubled this year with the number of dogs turned in needing life-saving emergency surgery.  AGA has spent upwards of $500,000 so far this year and will spend whatever it takes to save a dog.  

As a non-profit organization we rely on donations, which is why Giving Tuesday is so important to us.  Giving Tuesday is based on philanthropy and allows people to support the non-profit causes they are passionate about.  Every dollar donated will have a significant effect on the lives of the orphans saved by Adopt a Golden Atlanta.
