Help Survivors of Domestic Violence 

The Alma Domestic Violence Foundation’s mission is to “Educate, Empower and Celebrate survivors of domestic violence and help them achieve economic and self-sufficiency”. Our long-term vision is to aid in the eradication of domestic violence globally and enlighten the public about its effects.

Due to the alarming statistics of  “1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men (aged 18+) in the U.S. has experienced domestic violence in their lifetime", and “1.5 million high school students nationwide experience physical abuse from a dating partner in a single year”, we utilize this platform to embrace, educate, encourage and celebrate those that are having the courage to say “no more” and are trying to rebuild their lives.  This is an important initiative to our community, as we must all do our part in wrapping our arms around these women and young girls and continue to encourage them to move forward with positive, healthy lifestyles."  We assist survivors and their families with life-changing programs and services in six key areas:

• Social & Mental Health Services - counseling, individual and group therapy, safety planning, legal assistance and case management.
• Emergency Housing - emergency shelter, utility assistance, rapid re-housing, etc.
• Education & Training - dating violence prevention and Lunch & Learn for corporations and schools.
• Financial Literacy - personal financial management, budgeting, and investing.
• Work Skills Training & Job Placement - resume writing, interviewing skills, hygiene and grooming, etc.
• Public Policy Advocacy - public education, relationship building, etc.

• $100 GIFT - gives food assistance to a survivor and their family.
• $300 GIFT - provides three nights of temporary housing.
• $1,000 GIFT - provides two months of individual therapy.
