Atlanta Contemporary Dance Co

A nonprofit organization

Be a part of the Atlanta Arts Community by making a charitable donation and/or sponsor your favorite ACDC dancer!

The dancers are the heart and soul of ACDC. They are dedicated artists fully involved in all the elements of our Company - the performances, outreach and education. They rehearse, they perform, they teach, and they mentor. Being a professional dancer requires persistent training, self-development and immense discipline and stamina.

Season 3 Company Dancers: Caroline Beverly, Grace Chauncey, Blaire Doss, Josie Faulkner, Silvia Faulkner, Evann Guthrie, Ashley Hutton, Avery Scott, Holly Stone, Kimmy Torres, Sophie Weissel, Tina Zawacki, Brenna Hayes, Madeleine Johnson, Melanie Moore, and Julia Urrea.

Every donation made, from $1-$1,000 creates opportunity for our company to create magic for our audience. You can donate anytime by choosing your own donation amount, donation frequency, or you can check out our “dancer support” tab to learn how to support an individual dancer of your choice. Every donation you make is tax-deductible.

What is Dancer Sponsorship?

ACDC is committed to providing fair compensation for our dancers. Dancer Sponsors help make this possible! We provide opportunities to sponsor specific dancers to contribute and connect with the Company in a more personal way. Sponsorships afford ACDC the funds necessary to provide each dancer with the tools and compensation they need for a successful season. Through your sponsorship, dancers will have greater access to:

Rehearsal compensation and transportation

Performance compensation and transportation

Rehearsal studio space and theater rental space for practice and performances

Costuming, alterations, accessories

Stage make-up and hair design supplies

Dressing room supplies, nourishment, and water

Injury prevention tools such as TheraBands, foam rollers, medical tape, ice packs, etc.

Benefits of becoming a Dancer Sponsor include:

  • Selecting which dancer, or dancers, you wish to sponsor.
  • Public recognition, if desired, in show playbills or online as a Dancer Sponsor.
  • Your name will appear anywhere the selected dancer’s photo or biography appears.

More generous donations (donations over $150) receive benefits listed above and also:

  • Two VIP row tickets to ACDC’s opening night event
  • An invitation to watch company class
  • Invitations to all special events including free dance classes and private rehearsal viewings

To sponsor a dancer, simply click the Donate button on this page and write the name of the dancer in the dedication section during checkout!

About ACDC:

Atlanta Contemporary Dance Company was proudly established in August 2022 by Executive and Artistic Director Lauren Overstreet. The company is a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to celebrate and empower artists in the community through energetic dance performances, classes, and workshops. We believe in the power of dance to drive creation, unite society, and promote change.

The Atlanta Contemporary Dance Company debuted its first show, "Breathe," in March 2022 under the direction of Lauren Overstreet to investigate the journey of life with grief through movement. Following an overwhelming success during our first season with "Breathe," which was featured by both PandaKo Media and DanceATL, the company performed three more encore performances in December 2023 and debuted a new evening-length work, "This Silly Little Game", in Spring 2024. In addition to our phenomenal performance seasons, the Atlanta Contemporary Dance Company was featured in the 2023 DanceATHENS showcase and conducted a residency with the Athens Studio for Performing Arts in October 2023. Artistic Director, Lauren Overstreet's work was selected to be showcased in Reconstruct Exhibition Atlanta 2024, Atlanta Fringe Festival 2024, and the 2024 Contemporary Dance Choreography Festival in Orlando, FL.

Dance is community, and we invite you to join ours. In order for us to continue this momentum of creation, partnership, and joy, we need your involvement. Any contribution, big or small, has the capacity to revolutionize the future of art. We look forward to utilizing your donations to appropriately compensate dancers and administration, generate more groundbreaking choreography, and engage more youth and young professionals through residencies and masterclasses in this upcoming and future seasons. We thank you for your ongoing support of the Atlanta Contemporary Dance Company. Our company and outreach are made possible through the generous help of our friends.
