Since our founding, Atlanta Victim Assistance Inc. (AVA) has helped over 145,000 victims of crime thanks to the generous support of partners like you. Now, we need your help to continue this important work in 2023 and beyond. 

AVA advocates for the fundamental rights of victims of crime with compassion, dignity, and respect. AVA provides comprehensive services which remove barriers, strengthen victims and their families, and foster a healthy transition from victim to survivor. 

Our programs include:

• Advocacy for victims of crime: Our trained advocates respond to crime scenes and provide immediate support and healing

• Court accompaniment: We stand by victims in court and explain the criminal justice system process

• Homicide support groups: AVA holds monthly support groups for survivors of homicide victims and an annual Celebration of Life ceremony to commemorate lost loved ones

• Youth services: We provide violence intervention and prevention services through partnerships with schools in Southwest Atlanta

• Community outreach and education: AVA holds resource fairs, attends neighborhood meetings, and conducts public speaking events to advocate for victims’ rights and call for an end to violence
