Building Character and Athleticism 

Atlanta Youth Rugby (AYR) aims to build character and athleticism through rugby while fostering sportsmanship and community in a  fun, safe, and inclusive environment. Founded in 2013, AYR currently runs competitive tackle and flag & tag community programs that offer rugby training to boys and girls ages 5 - 18. Rugby requires constant reliance on your teammates - and constant movement - to succeed. This team spirit is rugby’s true magic and why the character the game instills is so strong. 

Building Community through Sport

It is tradition in rugby to host the visiting team for a meal after every match. Rugby is a shared ethos that breaks through social and economic barriers. AYR serves more than 2500 students each year with 85 percent of its participants Hispanic or African American, and more than 1500 in underserved communities.  AYR's nonprofit partners include The Ascent Project, WINGS for Kids, CAMP Best Friends, Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCA of Metro Atlanta and Atlanta Public Schools.

Help Grow the Game

In just its 5th year, the AYR core program already represents many different areas of Atlanta, resulting in widespread exposure for your brand.  Current neighborhood representation is as follows:
                    

Including our after-school programs, which are in still more zip codes all over south Atlanta, approximately 5000 families and extended family members are in the AYR community, which is  growing every year. Including our core supporters, such as Life U, Rugby Georgia, Atlanta adult recreational rugby teams and OTP leagues, we reach approximately 50,000 people. Additionally, our affiliation with the Centers of Hope, YMCA, WINGS, the Ascent Project and other programs offers tremendous opportunities both to increase player numbers and also, through their different Atlanta locations, a vehicle to expand the game of rugby to Atlanta’s youth.  The development of these community programs is a key objective for AYR.

Atlanta Youth Rugby sponsors and contributors help support our mission a variety of ways, whether it's jerseys for our age-grade teams, elite-level coaches, or bringing community programming to more Atlanta partner organizations.
