Cat Rangers, "The Special Forces of Cat Rescue" is headquartered in Buford, GA, is a 501c3 nonprofit charitable organization that provides a safe haven for our cats and kittens in a cage-free Adoption Center.
Cat Rangers is a specialized cat rescue that focuses on felines that are in dire situations including abandonment, family crisis, injury, and overcrowded animal control facilities. We have rescued over 6000 cats in the past 10 years and average 180 cats and kittens in our program at any time.
Our Adoption Center has a home-like atmosphere where rescued and orphaned cats and kittens can recover and heal through the nurturing of our Volunteers. All of the furnishings for the Center are donated or acquired through Goodwill and other charity organizations. CatRangers is a no-kill urgent need rescue that is entirely free roaming (cage free) so our adoptable cats can become accustomed to living in a home and potential adopters can see their true nature. CatRangers provides our kitties excellent medical care and a loving environment. Working with these often traumatized cats and kittens both physically and emotionally, truly restores their love and trust, creating a permanent loving bond with their new families. Our mission continues to be rescuing kitties with urgent needs and placing them in permanent loving homes, thus helping both cats and families to build lasting relationships. We hope you will feel moved to align with our mission and choose to donate, volunteer or foster and make a difference in the lives of our furry friends and their families. Together We Can Save Lives….one kitty at a time.
Our Adoption Center
Located in historic Buford, GA, our Adoption Center is a home divided into specialized cat rooms –socialized cats, the delightful kitten room, cats needing a little space, and our long timers. It’s a cat lovers dream to visit the center and spend time loving on and being loved on by over 60 cats. Come visit or volunteer. Our kitties would appreciate any time you can give to socializing and teaching them to trust.
We love Volunteers.
We love Volunteers of any age. There are lots of jobs including cleaning, feeding and the best job of all – playing and spending time with the cats. Kids are welcome as long as they are accompanied by an adult.
We care for FIV+ (Feline immunodeficiency virus) and FeLV+ (Feline Leukemia) cats and is one of the only rescues that treats their kitty's diagnosed with the previously terminal disease feline infectious peritonitis (FIP).
Cat Rangers is proud to be one of only a few rescues in Georgia that rescues and cares for FIV+, FeLV+ , and FIP cats. We have successfully treated FIV+ , Felv+ and FIP+ kittens that are now negative. These cats and kittens would otherwise be euthanized if left at a shelter. FIV + kitties can live long, healthy lives and although Felv kitties do not have as long a lifespan, they are still a loving joyful presence in a family who chooses to care for one of these special needs kitties. Our work with FIP kitties has contributed to ongoing research for perfecting a cure for this frequently fatal disease.
Our mission is to rescue cats and kittens that have been forgotten by others. We do not shy away from the emotionally damaged or physically impaired kitties. In other words, we don’t just accept perfect cats. We believe through good veterinary care, nurturing, and time, that almost every cat is adoptable.
