We help at-risk students stay in school and graduate!
Since 1972, it has been our mission to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.
This year alone, CIS of Atlanta will support 49,000 students with access to services that address school-wide risk factors, with 4,000 of these students receiving intensive case management, and 500 alumni receiving continued support. We currently serve 73 metro Atlanta schools spanning six districts: Atlanta Public Schools, City Schools of Decatur, Clayton County Schools, DeKalb County Schools, Fulton County Schools, and Griffin-Spalding Schools.
YOU can help us empower students to confront and overcome personal barriers. Student success lasts a lifetime!
How You Can Make a Difference
$100 - Helps us provide a student in need with basic needs such as new clothes and shoes.
$250 - Helps a CIS of Atlanta in-school site coordinator fill their pantry with food for their students.
$500 - Funds a student enrichment trip, such as a college campus tour.
$1500 - Allows us to provide one of our families with desperately needed rental and utility assistance.
$2500 - Supports a CIS of Atlanta caseload student for an entire year.
$5000 - Provides LatinXcellence program support for one semester, which delivers school site-based program and curriculum for LatinX and CIS of Atlanta students who are interested in college and career readiness opportunities.
$10,000 - Provides enough to take four students into the Communities In Schools of Atlanta student support program with individualized case management services.
How We Work
Our school-based site coordinators work inside schools collaborating with teachers to assess student needs at home and in the classroom to identify challenges that may keep them from succeeding. These specially trained professionals work inside the school system to advocate for each student's potential across school, community, and family--creating access to resources and opportunities that help them see, confront, and overcome barriers that stand between them and their future.
