Communities In Schools of Atlanta is a proven Drop-out Prevention Program 

Since 1972, it has been our mission to surround at-risk students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life.

CIS of Atlanta places caring adults inside schools to create a consistent, day-after-day academic, emotional, and financial support system to help kids stay in school and graduate. We see the unique needs of each student and collaborate with teachers, parents, and community partners to provide the wraparound service they need to reach their potential.

This year alone, CIS of Atlanta will support 49,000 students with access to services that address school-wide risk factors, with 4,000 of these students receiving intensive case management, and 500 alumni receiving continued support. We currently serve 73 metro Atlanta schools spanning six districts: Atlanta Public Schools, City Schools of Decatur, Clayton County Schools, DeKalb County Schools, Fulton County Schools, and Griffin-Spalding Schools.

How You Can Make a Difference

$100 - Provides a student in need with basic needs such as new clothes and shoes.

$250 - Helps a CIS of Atlanta in-school site coordinator fill their pantry with food for their students.

$500 - Funds a student enrichment trip, such as a college campus tour.

$1,000 - Provides one of our families with desperately needed rental and utility assistance.

$2,500 -Provides intensive one-on-one support for a CIS of Atlanta student for an entire year.
