Druid Hills Youth Sports Inc

Druid Hills Youth Sports (DHYS) offers recreational and competitive baseball and softball programs for ages 5 to 15 in the Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons.  The league mostly operates out of Medlock Park in Decatur, GA, but also uses other fields in Decatur as well as Tucker.  Through DHYS, families spend many days and nights at the park making life-long friendships merely by happenstance of their kids being on the same team.  Programs are rooted in development both on and off the field giving kids a positive youth sports experience that will help them grow into well functioning adults. 

In recent years, programs have grown exponentially.  Many age groups have waiting lists each season only because the organization has reached capacity with its current facilities. Campaign efforts such as this can help put more kids on the field as DHYS looks to expand its reach to meet current and expected future demand.  It also allows for unparalleled experiences through what has become known as "Capstone" which is the focus of this year's DHYS Giving Tuesday Campaign. 

What is Capstone? In a nutshell, it is the pinnacle for both our baseball (12U) and softball (10U) players. 

For players that are on a Devils team, it gives them the opportunity to have the trip of a lifetime. For our 12-year-old Devils baseball players, their tournaments range from a week-long baseball tournament in Cooperstown, NY  to tournaments in Myrtle Beach, SC. For our 1O-year-old Devils softball players, it can be a week-long tournament in Oklahoma City. In these tournaments, Devils teams will face nation-wide competition at world class facilities in a fully immersive experience. 

For all of our 12U and 10U players at DHYS, a Capstone Event will be held at the park. After growing up through the DHYS system, it will be a opportunity to celebrate their time at the park and honor the commitment and passion of the players and families that have spent the countless hours at DHYS.

Exciting times at DHYS with more players across all age groups than the park has ever seen!  But, DHYS still operates as a volunteer organization. Parents and coaches give their time truly for the "love of the game." More funds simply means more developmental opportunities for kids in our community that want to pursue their interests to play baseball and softball. The  expenses to continually participate in youth sports is at an all time high. Campaigns like Giving Tuesday for DHYS help experiences, like the Capstone, remain economical for parents and caregivers.
