We equip graduates with the tools they need to succeed in high school and beyond.

Many young people in Atlanta lack access to the tools and resources to help them flourish. Reach for Excellence students strive to triumph over adversity, develop as leaders, and pursue the path to college.  Our academic and leadership enrichment program helps change the lives of economically disadvantaged youth during their sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade years.

Reach for Excellence prepares talented middle school students who possess limited opportunities and resources to succeed in college preparatory programs. 

Through five week summer sessions and two years of Saturday courses, the program reinforces the academic, leadership, and social skills each student needs to succeed in high school, college, and beyond. Experienced teachers lead students in core subjects, community service, and field trips.  In its 23rd year, the program boasts 534 graduates whose paths in life changed as a result of their experience at Reach for Excellence. 

Reach for Excellence graduates have been accepted at 194 colleges and universities including Harvard, Yale, Georgia Tech, and UGA.  Reach graduates enroll in college at rates far exceeding college matriculation rates among economically disadvantaged youth in Georgia.
