RiverLife transforms lives by equipping people to grow deep in faith and reach wide in service to others through local missions. We connect volunteers with people in need of home repair, yard clean up, and wheelchair access. RiverLife also hosts a quarterly, county-wide day of volunteering called #SERVECOWETA, and hopes to expand to surrounding communities.

When we first met Theresa last year, she was still reeling from her husband's unexpected death. Ken had passed in 2016 and in those first two years as a widow, she found herself buried beneath a "honey-do list" literally three pages long. She was strapped financially without his income, and because she is unable to receive his pension until 2022, she felt hopeless. Theresa was working tirelessly to provide for her daughter, Casie, who has Spina Bifida, and her granddaughter who lived with her at the time. 

Through several churches sending serve teams and many loving individuals who came alongside this precious family, the long list of to-do's has been replaced with the assurance that they are not alone! More importantly, Theresa and Casie not only found hope in their community, but they also found renewed faith in God! In September, they were both baptized and embraced a local church as their faith family. 

As Theresa shared the impact of this celebration with me, she said she felt that Ken was with her as she wore a necklace that holds some of Ken's remains as she was baptized. The peace I see in her is unmistakable.
