It is no secret when those with special needs turn 22 years old, the school bus stops coming and they are faced with limited opportunities and tough transitions into adulthood. Many spend days in non-stimulating environments, and are left feeling unproductive in their lives. This can and does lead to a downward spiral of loneliness and depression. Also, the increase in idle and alone time often leads to the regression of skills learned through the school years.

So instead of those days without friends or without purpose, The Next Stop has made it possible for adults with special needs to be a part of a social community and experience meaningful, productive time together.

The Next Stop's program provides large and small peer groups with personal mentor leadership to encourage members as they engage in planned activities.  These activities allow supportive opportunities for social engagement, recreation/leisure and life application learning.  Engaging in supported and cooperative group activities allow members the opportunity to practice appropriate social skills, further their own learning and skills and experience the pride of accomplishment alongside their peers.

**To better assist our members and their families, The Next Stop established a Sponsorship Fund many years ago. This fund is designed to offer discreet support to families during challenging times by sponsoring their participation for a duration of time. Thank you for considering a donation to The Next Stop this year.  All GA Gives donations this year will be applied to the Sponsorship Fund.  The cost for members to attend is $20 a day. 

• $60 pays for 3 days of attendance                                                   
• $200 pays for 10 days of attendance
• $500 pays for 25 days of attendance
• ETC.!
