The Posse Foundation Atlanta

Posse Atlanta is a program site of The Posse Foundation, one of the top college access and leadership development programs in the nation. Posse identifies high-achieving students from underrepresented backgrounds, sends them to top-ranked colleges and universities in multicultural teams of 10 students (posses), supports them through graduation, and cultivates them as leaders capable of generating consensus solutions to the complex problems of America’s increasingly pluralistic society.

Since opening in 2007, Posse Atlanta has selected more than 660 outstanding students from metro Atlanta high schools who have earned $110 million in full-tuition, merit-based scholarships from our top-tier partner institutions. Posse Atlanta Scholars and alumni are extremely accomplished. They have earned 28 competitive fellowships including, 13 Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships and five Fulbright Scholarships. 14 Posse Atlanta alumni have been offered admission to Posse Graduate Affiliates, which include Columbia University and Yale University among others. Additionally, our Scholars and alumni have interned or secured full-time positions with leading companies like Arby’s Foundation, Bank of America, The Coca-Cola Company, Deloitte, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Georgia Institute of Technology, USTA, WarnerMedia, and Willis Towers Watson.

The COVID-19 pandemic has driven Posse Atlanta to rapidly adapt and evolve as we continue to serve our students. We are innovating in real time, using technology to keep Scholars connected, reassured and supported. Despite the unprecedented challenges in the middle of a global crisis that has left many physically isolated and lacking basic resources, we have not missed a beat in supporting these extraordinary young people.
