YMCA of Metro Atlanta

Our Mission: 

The YMCA, reflecting its Judeo-Christian heritage, is an association of volunteers, members, and staff, open to and serving all, with programs and services which build spirit, mind, and body. Financial assistance is available based on need. The YMCA actively seeks to identify and involve those in need.

With equity at the heart of all we do, the YMCA of Metro Atlanta is addressing the critical needs our community is facing right now; helping individuals achieve their goals and build authentic relationships; and designing experiences where every belongs. Guided by our Y2025 strategic plan, we are creating lasting positive change in our community by creating and delivering programs that build healthy mind, body, and spirit, both within the Ys extensive network or facilities and outside the walls of our Ys.

At the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, we believe all people - especially children - deserve an equal chance to reach their full potential. Philanthropic support is critical to the success of our Y, and contributions to the WHY IT MATTERS Annual Giving Campaign fund work that facilitates meaningful connection, equitable inclusion, growth and safety for the individuals and communities we serve. Annual campaign support ensures that, even in challenging times, the Y has the resources to adapt to meet the changing needs of our community.

Our Impact: 

Serving Atlanta since 1858, the YMCA is an integral part of this community, providing opportunities for children, teens, adults, and seniors to learn, grow, serve, and thrive. Through a blended and sustainable revenue model that includes earned revenue, public support, and private philanthropy, we support families and strengthen communities through education, wellness, and youth development, especially in our city’s most underserved communities.

The YMCA serves the metro Atlanta community with three areas of focus; healthy living, youth development, and social responsibility. So much more than a gym and a great place to learn to swim, the Y offers wellness programs from chronic disease prevention  to weight-loss management; education programs through quality early learning centers, STEAM-based curriculum and after school programs; and inspires social responsibility through youth leadership programs, volunteer engagement and community outreach and support programs.
