Art the Box Project

In early 2015, a collaborative project began between the City of Augusta, the Downtown Development Authority and the Greater Augusta Arts Council.  This project, entitled, ART THE BOX saw 19 local artists, selected by committee, create art on 23 local traffic signal control cabinets (TSCCs). The City has since commissioned two additional boxes, in tribute to our US Military and in celebration of Gould's Corner, the historic center of Summerville Neighborhood.  Now, the design and application process is open to the community for those interested in submitting ideas, whether they are an individual artist, a company, or organization interested in sponsoring a box.

It costs $1,200 to create one of these public art gems.  We'd love to help our local artists to create more!
