The freedom to be you

Live Arts is a safe place. It allows everybody to be anybody. We have no judgement here. Our goal is to tell the stories of our community and amplify every voice. We like to believe that everyone has a place at the table and eats as well. 

I was personally shown that Live Arts looks beyond the physical and the obvious to see the true person. I experienced that my first day walking through those doors. I was auditioning for a show called Evelyn in Purgatory, and I thought I didn't fit the character I was auditioning for based on what I saw in the room. I decided I was going to out-act everyone and make it hard for the director. I had grouped Live Arts with every other audition I had been on: "If you didn't look a specific way, you weren't going to get the part". I was wrong, and found that out when I got the part. I learned that Live Arts is blind to color, gender, orientation, in that those factors are not at the top of the list of "making the cut". What is at the top of the list is the ability to tell a good story and embody a character.

I don't know if I found Live Arts, or if Live Arts found me, but I know that I am grateful to have these folks in my life. 

With that being said, we need support from you. As I respectfully ask for your donations, please understand that every donation will be used to make every heard voice loud and clear. I thank you in advance for any contribution you can make.

The funds I raise will go toward the costs associated with finding and building out a new permanent space for Live Arts, general operating/season costs that keep the theatre running, and raising enough money to finally pay our Artistic Directors for the tireless work they do for our community.

So please, give what you can, and help us say "challenge accepted!" as we continue changing the world for years to come.

Please donate to Live Arts Theatre, a 501c3 nonprofit theatre. Donations may be tax deductible, check with your tax preparer. All donations will go towards the theatre in general to cover operating expenses as well as strategic goals so we can continue to produce amazing shows while we find and build out a new permanent space where all will not only be welcome, but celebrated.
