"50 for the Future" Athena's Warehouse Inc.

On this annual day of giving  we're searching for 50 supporters to commit to donating $50/month. 

All of our program participants receive weekly career prep coaching and can access free group therapy sessions with a certified therapist but the need for more funds to provide free therapy with a certified therapist remains. 

We know our participants are still facing major uncertainty related to the pandemic and we need to be ready!

Your gift today will ensure young ladies get the emotional stability they need in spite of the pandemic. 

Through the generous support of donors, we can continue to provide weekly college/career prep workshops, free group therapy, free yoga from a trauma-informed yoga instructor, 5 $1000.00 scholarships, and micro-scholarships to cover application fees for girls attending high school in Dekalb county, GA.

We have monthly expenses, just like you, and we want to know that we're going to be able to continue to this work in the future. When you give monthly you're showing that you want to guarantee that youth become community leaders. Your monthly gift makes us able to predict and make plans for expansion that we simply cannot make with 1 full-time employee and without our own office building.

MEET LIZET

Lizet was excited to join the Discover Your Inner Warrior program offered by Athena’s Warehouse since she heard about it during her freshman year at Cross Keys high school. Recently when reflecting on her experience with Athena’s Warehouse, Lizet had this to say:

“The workshops provided by Athena’s have helped me in many ways. I don't talk about my past struggles as much but I'm glad to say that I no longer go through depression like I did before but my PTSD is still here, just not as present and I'm glad because of Athena's Warehouse. Before anything I want to thank Athena's Warehouse because if it weren't for them and their amazing partners that would come to the workshops, I'm pretty sure I would still be struggling to this point. So to answer the question, how has the workshops helped me with my difficulties in my life is that I managed to have less stress. I took so many pieces from different workshops and a few of them are that I was able to learn about SMART goals that would save me from having stress. I was able to have a schedule so that I'm not all over the place.” 

Lizet received a $1000 scholarship from Athena's Warehouse to help her pursue her dreams and become the first in her family to go to college. She enrolled at Georgia State University and began her coursework just last month in August 2022.
