The Code Blue campaign is a dedicated, multifaceted initiative designed to address the urgent need for mental health support and resources for Black fathers. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by this demographic, the campaign aims to break down stigmas, foster open dialogue, and create a supportive community for Black fathers and their families.

Through a combination of digital media platforms, community engagement, and collaborations with mental health organizations, Code Blue seeks to empower Black fathers by providing them with the tools, knowledge, and resources necessary to prioritize their mental health and well-being. This campaign is built on the belief that mental health is an essential component of personal and family stability, and that the well-being of Black fathers is integral to the health of their families and communities.

Mental health has long been stigmatized in society. This has especially been true for men, in general, and Black men, in particular. There has been a stigma attached to mental health challenges with descriptors like “toxic masculinity,” “being crazy,” touchy-feely,” or “overly emotional.” Men have been encouraged to either address their mental well-being or “man up” and “keep quiet” about them. Likewise, in the Black community, mental health has been stigmatized. It has traditionally been seen as something that can be “prayed away” or simply dismissed. Due to these and other negative connotations, raising awareness around mental health for Black men has been doubly challenging but all the more important.

This retreat serves to address the aforementioned mental health issues for Black Fathers (All in general). Entitled "Explore Fatherhood Trauma, Resiliency, and Healing," Fathers Incorporated seeks to extend its reach of services to provide a safe and healing circle for the participants of Gentle Warriors Academy.
