Support Georgia Families And Communities

Parenting Resources & Initiatives (PRI) is a faith-based non-denominational organization committed to helping young, college-bound students and their families to better prepare for and adjust to the demands, expectations, and realities of succeeding in their studies and eventual careers in the United States.

PRI helps families by providing help and support in navigating educational, social, and economic systems in order to improve outcomes for them. We work with families with children under 18, college age youth, as well as early career professionals.

PRI has been an active voice in Georgia communities since 2012. In this time, our volunteer-led organization has become a trusted partner to many organizations in the Metro Atlanta region. We regularly provide and/or support trainings, workshops and presentations, and work with individuals, families, and groups to encourage increased community participation, improved health, and educational outcomes for participants, and we always strive to expand our impact in the region.

Since inception, we have held programs, meetings, mentoring, and training activities in a variety of settings. These have included private homes, churches, libraries, open-space venues, and other creative locations. Although we consider it fortunate to have experienced such support from community and friends, we recognize now is the time to consolidate our position and voice in the area.

A sampling of the activities we have managed to support with little or no external funding have included the following:

- Workshops, trainings & presentations covering all aspects of parenting

- Assisting families in becoming familiar with local resources and increasing their ability to integrate successfully in their communities

- Sponsoring family bonding events and interactive community activities.

- Partnering with other non-profits to serve at-risk communities in the Metro area

- Individual and Group Mentoring activities

- Conducting resume review and interview preparation sessions for young professionals

- College Admissions guidance through 1-on-1 sessions and group activities

We are now seeking funds to rent a dedicated space and hire staff to help us improve our programming and expand our ability to serve the families and communities in Georgia.
