Caminar Latino - Latinos United for Peace & Equity's mission is to create opportunities for Latino families to transform their lives and communities by changing the social conditions that give rise to violence. We are Georgia’s first and only comprehensive domestic violence intervention program for Latino families, and we provide support to other nonprofits, advocates in the field, government agencies, and business to address and end gender-based violence.

In my role at a domestic violence intervention nonprofit organization, I am deeply committed to our mission of fostering safety, healing, and empowerment through a comprehensive 3-prong approach: individual, community, and systems-level intervention. I have the privilege of working locally, where I focus on the lives of individuals and families impacted by violence, particularly children, who are often the most vulnerable.

As someone passionate about helping others, I provide direct services to children who have experienced trauma, offering them a safe space to heal and find hope. My work with children involves not just emotional support but also helping them navigate the complexities of their circumstances, building resilience, and offering resources that help them thrive despite the hardships they face. Each child’s story is unique, and I am honored to walk alongside them on their journey toward recovery.

The work I do is deeply personal and rewarding, as I see firsthand how transformative it can be when people receive the care, understanding, and resources they need to break free from the cycle of violence. With the guidance of our national arm, Latinos United for Peace and Equity, we strive to create lasting change on every level—individually, within the community, and through broader systems change. It is a privilege to be part of this incredible mission, knowing that every effort, no matter how small, contributes to building a safer, more compassionate world for all.
